Hosted Google Mail News

March 10, 2008

150x55.gifThere is a great article about “Cloud Computing” (what we call the Internet as your computer) posted on the Financial Post website. While the article covers a number of stories of how organizations are using Internet based services and or applications to achieve better IT solutions with less cost, we were particularly impressed with the $60K saved by a small Canadian company that switched to Google Hosted Email. In the Financial Post article the president of Concord National’s Prairie division, Mr. Tim More, who acts as the companies IT support guy (sound familiar anyone?) stated that,

“…when he came across the Google Apps e-mail service and saw that his company could save more than $60,000, the decision to move away from their old Microsoft Exchange infrastructure to “cloud computing” was an easy one.”

We know there are immediate and long term cost savings to moving to Google hosted email and we also know that the process of getting there can be easily achieved by using the services of OMBNexgen. One of the noted points in Mr. More’s discussion of why they moved to Google hosted email was taking the burden of being the IT guy off his shoulders and moving it to the experts without having to hire an IT person. In this period of economic uncertainty many small to medium sized businesses are trying very hard to maximize their limited financial resources, we at OMBNexGen know that Google hosted email is a no brainer for saving money while getting a better solution. Just like the Financial Post article noted when talking about the costs savings of moving to Google hosted email,

“IT costs suddenly go “poof.”"

What a concept, reducing your IT costs, when was the last time that happened for your organization?Contact us (415-233-6856 or click HERE) to talk about how OMBNexGen can help you make your “IT costs suddenly go “poof.”"

You are not serious, right? IT costs never go down. They may remain constant, if you are lucky, but they never go down!

Got something to say?
